Accessibility Statement
Accessibility legislation has been considered for Jems based on the Directive 2016/2102 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies;
https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32016L2102&from=EN
WCAG 2.1. level AA has been identified as standard to comply with. (Whilst level A includes just the bare minimum and AAA is for special needs).
Since Jems is only intended for a restricted number of users, a full compliance is considered too high an administrative burden, thus Jems will only be partially compliant. However, the start page of Jems will be fully compliant with level AA.
Public sector bodies running web sites and web applications have to provide a statement on accessibility according to the template in Directive 2016/2102 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies
https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32016L2102&from=EN.
Each programme authority running Jems will have to elaborate an individual accessibility statement. It is strongly recommended to consult relevant national legislation.
How to add your accessibility statement to Jems
A template for the accessibility statement is provided here: Accessibility Statement
Please add your programme contact data to the statement and adapt other information according to your specific legislation as needed.
You will need to host this statement (e.g. on your programme website) and provide a link to Jems as a startup variable --info.accessibility-statement-url, as described in Installation instructions under section “Additional startup parameters”
